Obsession is my idea of a great bow, good speed, quiet, accurate, comfortable cams ( wrecked shoulders will tell you what's nice and what's not!) and easy to let down from full draw, every single bow made currently is smooth so using that word to describe a bow simply shows no knowledge of most bows, because the same can be said of every one, but easy drawing leaves a lot of bows out, but not obsession.Americas Best Bowstrings offers the finest bowstrings and cables you can put on your Def-by Obsession. Probably the best feeling and shooting bows i have ever had and that is something over 50 bows from everyone but mathews ( shot plenty just didn't like them), over the years i owned hoyts, martins, bowtech, diamond (both post and pre bowtech models) whisper creek, high country, pearson, pse, darton, evolution, bear, apa, archery research, winchester and alien, and probably a couple others i can not even recall right now. They are great bows and i currently own a defcon 6, and i have had several different models and have shot most everything they made up until hurricane harvey destroyed my archery shop and put me out of business, For what I sold the Triax for I picked both of these up and still pocketed $$$. The codes you refer to could be any number of things but just to make up for example, 'BP 45' could mean 'Bow Poundage 45lbs' and '06 14' could mean manufactured in June 2014. I’ll have my hands on the FX6 early next week. Usually theres an 'official' printing or sticker on the limbs that may give the draw weight range and the draw length with the cam intended for it. They look, feel, shoot and do anything just as good if not better than the others. I havent ever had any bad experience with the bow on a hunt but have. I Whitetail hunt here and like a quiet bow for that. Wheeling, dealing, kiss stealing, jet plane flying, Cadillac driving son of a gun Whooooo Sep 17, 2018. I like how the bow shoots and I shoot it well but its a little louder noise wise than I would prefer. Only thing that can make the cables not touch each other is to 'bend' (flexible) the whole cable guard opposite from the cable side, and if course since its flexible it wont stay in that position. So why don’t I see them mentioned much on here? Just from my 2 days shooting and comparing I think they are underrated. right now I shoot a 2016 Obsession DefCon 6 its a 360IBO bow and Im shooting a pretty heavy arrow right at 500 grain. I can also hold at full draw forever compared to the Triax. Evolution grip is great, draw cycle smooth, quiet, and accurate. Triax was great and all but grip and weight I didn’t care for. SOLD: Matthews Switchback - 60-70lb draw weight - 28.5 draw length - Extreme Sight - Micro-adjust Star Hunter rest - Stabilizer, Peep, Wrist Strap, Limbsavers - SOLD Matthews Feather Max - 60-70lb draw weight - 28-30 draw length - Montana Black-Gold Sight - Browning Star-Hunter style. Haven’t shot the FX6 yet but very similar specs to Evolution however faster and 90% letoff. The DEF-CON 6 is Obsession’s most technologically advanced bow ever. If I didn’t know the Evolution was 5 yrs old I would have thought it was a current released bow. All new for 2016 Obsesssion Bows has released the DefCon6. Recently listed again so I purchased to see how it was.Ģ days later I now have an 2014 Obsession Evolution and a 2019 Obsession FX6. Started looking and found a Obsession Evolution that I had eyes on back in the summer when it was listed here but wasnt fast enough before it was snatched up. I also thought why have it when I can do the same thing with a cheaper bow. I killed 2 deer with it and couldn’t justify owning a bow that was more expensive than any gun I had. Triax was smooth, quiet and packed a punch. I picked up a Mathews Triax last summer and absolutely loved it. Who all shoots Obsession Bows? I had never heard of them until the last year or so.
